My Van Gogh

Patrick Talbot

Thu 10 Jul 2014

Throughout the year, Bice Curiger invites prominent figures from the world of the arts to talk about an aspect of the life and work of Vincent van Gogh that holds particular meaning for them.

Patrick Talbot is a historian and critic of art and photography. Drawing in particular on Vincent’s letters to his brother Theo, he shared his enduring astonishment at the extraordinary, unrelenting physical and mental energy demonstrated by Van Gogh during his stay in Arles. He also looked at the painting of Vincent’s fellow artist, Antonin Artaud.
