Alexander Roob

Alexander Roob has worked as a comic-strip artist and as a painter for churches, theatres and films. In 1985, he started his sequential pictorial novel CS, including sections of drawn reportages for the Grafische Sammlung Albertina (Vienna), the Museum für Modern Kunst (Frankfurt am Main) and The Guardian newspaper (London). Since 2002 he has been a professor of graphic arts and painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. In 2005 he founded the Melton Prior Institute for Reportage Drawing and Printing Culture. He has published Alchemy and Mysticism (1996) and on Bernard Buffet (Centre Pompidou, Paris, 2002 ; Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt, 2008), Robert Weaver (2012), William Hogarth (Kunsthalle Bremen, 2014) and Henry James (2016).
