Paul B. Preciado

Paul B. Preciado is a philosopher, curator and transgender activist and one of the leading thinkers in the study of gender and sexual politics. He is the author of Testo Junkie. Sex, Drugs and Biopolitics in the Pharmacopornographic Era (The Feminist Press, 2013), Countersexual Manifesto (Columbia University Press, 2018) and Pornotopia: An Essay on Paylboy’s Architecture and Biopolitics (Zone Books, 2014), for which he was awarded the Sade Price in France. From 2011 to 2014 he was head of research at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art and director of its Independent Studies Program. From 2014 to 2017 he was Curator of Public Programs at documenta 14 (Kassel/Athens). In 2019, he was a resident at LUMA Arles, France and curator of the Taiwan Pavilion for the Venice Biennale 2019 presenting the artist Shu Lea Cheang.
