Petra Gördüren, Ph.D., is an independent art historian and researcher based in Berlin. Being author and editor for DeGruyter Allgemeines Künsterlexijon she is a specialist in American art of the 19th and early 20th century. She publishes on the relationship of art and science and on contemporary art, especially on portraiture of the late 20th century.
