BIOGRAPHY

Raphaela Vogel

Raphaela Vogel is a German artist born in 1988. After studying art in Nuremberg, Frankfurt and Amsterdam, she moved to Berlin where she lives and works. Her practice revolves around the tension in contemporary society between the physical and the technological worlds, between our personal subjectivities and collective structures. She creates sculptures, often inspired by animal forms and art history, but also videos where she places herself in the scene. Vogel’s work has been shown in various institutions, including the Kunsthaus Bregenz, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris, the Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt, and the Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles as part of the Niko Pirosmani exhibition.
