BIOGRAPHY

Thomas Hirschhorn

Based on poor materials like cardboard, aluminium and adhesive tape, Thomas Hirschhorn (born in 1957) has been developing a political oeuvre for more than 30 years. His installations are often monuments dedicated to thinkers, challenging notions of power, justice, and moral responsibility… In 2013, in particular, he produced Gramsci Monument at the Dia Art Foundation in New York. In 2011, while representing Switzerland at the Venice Biennale, he also won the Kurt Schwitters prize in Hanover.
