James Ensor is an artist who grew up in Ostend, a town where life is punctuated every year by the carnival season: parades, marching bands, masks, fancy dress, streamers… The Belgian artist translates this party atmosphere into his pictures in a highly individual way. Welcome to his universe, tinged with dark humour!
