Gary Hume

Gary Hume (born in 1962) is known for his “minimalist” paintings which play subtly with areas of pale colours made on aluminium panels. As a member of the YBA (Young British Artist) group, he is one of the most respected English painters. Since the early 1990s he has shown his work in several major institutions (Fundação La Caixa, Barcelona, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London…) and at biennials (Venice, Sao Paolo…). Tate Britain held a solo show of his work in 2013.
