Jörg Heiser

Jörg Heiser is the director of the Institute for Art in Context at the University of the Arts in Berlin. He is editor at large of Frieze and an art critic writing for Süddeutsche Zeitung. His book All of a Sudden: Things that Matter in Contemporary Art (Sternberg Press) was published in 2008, and Double Live between Art and Pop Music (Sternberg Press) in 2017. Exhibitions curated by Heiser include Funky Lessons (BüroFriedrich, Berlin and BAWAG Foundation, Vienna, 2004), Romantic Conceptualism (Kunsthalle, Nuremberg and BAWAG Foundation, Vienna, 2007), Fare Una Sceneta/Making a Scene (Fondazione Morra Greco Naples, 2008), Trailer Park (Teatro Margherita, Bari, 2010-2011), and Hybrid Naples, a string of exhibitions (Fondazione Morra Greco, 2013-2014). Together with various musicians, he is part of the pop décalé band La Stampa.
