BIOGRAPHY

Pierre-Lin Renié

Pierre-Lin Renié is an artist and professor at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux (EBABX). After studying photography at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, he was awarded a fellowship at the Clark Institute (Williamstone, 2002) and another at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, 2004). A former curator at the Musée Goupil (Bordeaux), he worked on art publications and visual culture in the 19th century. Since 1992 he has organized some fifteen exhibitions and supervised their catalogues, and has also published numerous articles on the broad dissemination of images since the invention of photography. In 2004, he resumed his own practice as an artist, which he has set aside after his studies in Arles. His work appears in the form of exhibitions and as artists’ books or digital publications.
