6.30-7.30pm / Lecture : Frédéric de Longueau and Rubin Steiner
8.30-10pm / DJ set: Rubin Steiner

Immerse yourself in the cosmic universe of the visionary musician and composer Sun Ra, currently presented at the Fondation in the exhibition “Hot Sun, Late Sun. Untamned Modernism” through the eyes of Frédéric de Longueau and Rubin Steiner.

The musical, aesthetic, philosophical and social legacy of one of the main initiators of the Afro-futurist school of thought will be the highlight of this evening organised in two parts…

Frédéric de Longueau is both a DJ, influenced by artists such as Moodyman and Gilles Peterson, and a sound designer. He has given several lectures around emblematic figures such as Moondog, Electrifying Mojo and Serge Gainsbourg.

Rubin Steiner is a French DJ and composer based in Tours. His compositions are inspired by jazz and funk, as well as by disco and rock. He gives a very important place to the video that regularly accompanies his sets. In 2015, he delivered a lecture about Sun Ra.
